Theresa's Story:
Living the Life of My Dreams!
There was a time in my life where I had no idea what was happening, why it was happening, and where I was going. For several months, I had to sell my jeans to make the rent and steal food to be able to eat. I was barely able to keep my apartment, which had no furniture.
My dining room table was a cardboard box that had a pillow case draped over it. I sat on the floor. I slept on the floor. Finally, one day I could afford a mattress. No bed frame, just a mattress, on the floor. You know how people say they are grateful for the roof over their heads? Well, I was just as grateful for the floor beneath my feet!
This is not a period of my life that I am proud of, yet it is the time that I realized that something had to change. I gave myself permission to wonder about how I could have the life of my dreams. I promised myself I would keep an open mind to what could unfold.
That was the minute I realized that I needed to get clear on what I wanted out of life itself! In order to figure out what I truly wanted, I needed to stop the madness of running between three jobs, trying unsuccessfully to make ends meet. I took the leap of faith and stopped to wonder about how I wanted my life to look.
I shifted my focus on what I could do, not what I couldn’t do; not what I didn’t have; not on what I didn’t want. I focused on an end goal: To have enough money to do what I wanted to do, when I wanted to do it, if I wanted to do it.
I created a plan to make it all happen! I took stock of my personal qualities and skills and by doing that I realized that I was gifted with some amazing talents! And that was the moment I realized my true purpose in life. That recognition changed my life and caused me to fashion my businesses in alignment with my purpose. (Cont'd at Right...)
I was gifted with the ability to relate with people in truly understanding where they were in life and had the talent to help them see themselves and their potential to change anycircumstance in their life if they chose to. I was also gifted in the art of public speaking, having the right words to say, at the right time, and to be able to deliver them in a way that my audience could receive them. From those personal attributes, I developed my business mission to be an inspirational educator, teaching for one sole purpose: That my students get what I am teaching so that they can use what they learned and be more successful because of it!
What’s the point of my story? You can live the life of your dreams too! I believe that we all have gifts and talents perfectly planted within each of us that drive us to our true purpose in life. Explore those and you will find your calling in life. You owe it to yourself, and the lives of the people you touch along the way, to act on those gifts and begin to live the life of your dreams!
